Sunday Lunch
Our Mid-day Midlander Sunday Lunch Services will run on January 27th, March 16th, April 13th and 27th, May 18th, June 15th (Fathers' Day), August 31st, October 19th and November 9th.
Our special price is only £9.00 plus your train fare of £10.90 for adults and £4.00 for children (train fare £5.50).

Early booking is advised although we can take bookings up to the day before the meal, subject to room being available.
Afternoon TeasA traditional afternoon tea of sandwiches and cream cakes washed down with as many cups of tea or coffee as you can drink whilst travelling through the Derbyshire countryside on board one of the Midland Railway Centre's trains.
The afternoon tea is available for parties of 20 or more (or subject to a minimum charge of £159) on any day when the trains are running.
Several variations are available, you can simply enjoy your tea whilst having one round trip or you can travel on an earlier train, look around our Museum, Country Park and Farm and then join your train for tea later in the day.
Please advise us of any special diets that may be needed and if any of your party are confined to wheelchairs so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
All this at a cost of £7.95 each - including your train fare.
Children's Birthday Teas
We provide a novel and inexpensive birthday treat for children and their friends. A children's party can be booked for any time when trains are running (see timetable).
The train departs at 12.30 p.m. from Butterley Station, arriving 40 minutes later at Swanwick Junction where you will be met by a staff member from Brittain Pit Farm. It's then straight up to the farm to meet the animals - everything from guinea pigs and rabbits to pigs and llamas.
Later the party tea will be served in Johnson's buffet before the return train ride at 4.00 p.m., arriving at Butterley 15 minutes later.
Each child is given a bag of animal food to feed to the animals and there is a choice of party food for the tea.

The cost is £6.95 for each party member (adult or child - adults do not receive a meal)

The Lunchtime Yuletider - a Lunchtime Treat with a Visit from Santa Claus
Enjoy a traditional Christmas Lunch served aboard one of our preserved Midlander dining cars which will be hauled by one of our restored locomotives.
As the meal is served treat yourself to a Christmas tipple from the Midlander bar which carries a wide range of beers, wines and spirits and non alcoholic drinks.
All the children in your party will receive a Christmas gift from Santa Claus during the journey. For children under 3 years old you can book a mini meal (main course only) and a Christmas gift. Please ensure that Santa knows the names and ages of all the children in your party.

The Evening Yuletider - An Evening Christmas Meal on Board a Steam Train
Let the magic of the Christmas season bring you to a festive party aboard the Midlander train. Enjoy your Christmas evening meal as one of our preserved locomotives takes you on a trip along the line. Once the Evening Yuletider returns to Butterley Station it's time for the disco to begin - also in one of our preserved coaches - and dance till late.
All the children in your party will receive a Christmas gift from Santa Claus before the journey. For children under 3 you can book a mini meal (main course only) and a Christmas Gift
